Safety in our work.
Purpose in what we recover.
WSR provides by-products management for manufacturers and industrial sources across the U.S. and Mexico.
Safety is a shared responsibility.
It is number one in our eleven Rules of the Road:
“I will do everything safely or not at all.”
Our written safety program sets out responsibilities for employees and supervisors, with training, hazard awareness and safe work practices at its core.
Prepare for the work
Personal protective equipment, equipment operation, emergency preparedness and hazard communication.
Speak up and learn
Employee participation, reporting hazards and near misses, and incident review support our focus on reducing workplace risks.
WSR Safety Commitment
“I commit to myself and my coworkers to work safely, follow all WSR safety policies, wear all required PPE, and to report any unsafe conditions.”
PPE means personal protective equipment.
Keeping materials in productive use.
Recovering recyclable industrial materials helps return useful resources to steelmaking and other productive uses.

Material acceptance, handling and documentation depend on the agreed program and location. We do not accept or process any hazardous materials.

Based on WSR steel shipments for recycling and published industry benchmarks.
Estimated potential savings compared with primary steel production. Actual results depend on material composition and downstream processing.
How we estimate
We apply worldsteel’s published recycling benchmark to our steel shipment volumes to estimate potential CO₂ savings compared with primary steel production. The calculation assumes the steel is used by mills to make new steel.
This is a benchmark-based potential benefit, not measured or audited emissions savings. “And counting” reflects ongoing recycling activity, not a live measurement.
